Oh, sure! MS is a neurological disorder of the brain and spinal cord. So there's damage in various spots in the brain and cord, which can cause muscle weakness, spasms, numbness and tingling (paresthesia), and even cognitive problems.
This is why it's good to keep a timeline of your symptoms. Neurological disorders are easier to diagnose if the doctor can look at the symptoms, and basically make an educated guess as to where the damage is.
A cyst in your spinal cord can cause numbness, tingling, muscle weakness, and spasm. However, it won't cause cognitive problems like confusion, and it shouldn't cause fatigue.
Good luck! I have a friend with a syrinx, and it's been giving her a lot of trouble. She's better now, but still in a wheelchair. (Don't want to scare you!)
Thank you for the response. Could this possibly cause symptoms that mimic MS?
Basically a neurogenic cyst is a bubble in your spinal cord. There are several ways to treat it, some invasive, some not... Good luck! This can cause a lot of neurological symptoms, because it's disrupting the nerve channels in your cord.
