OK. I need help...

Hey, everybody!  As you know, I don't have a diagnosis of any kind.  I have been posting on this forum since April, I believe.  Although my docs aren't sure what's going on with me, I have severe muscle cramps and tightness ALL over.  It's driving me crazy!

My neuro has observed increased muscle tone in all four limbs, so I know I'm not making it up, at least.  He just doesn't know the cause yet.  So my question is this~~

What do I do???

I know you all have given me your remedies before.  I need them again, please!  I'm in so much pain!  My jaw hurts, my toes are sticking out every which way, my neck is as hard as a rock!  My legs are the same as always -- like a gerbil is climbing around under my skin.  I'm naming him Goober.

I just sent my hubby to the store for tonic water.  Any other suggestions?

I'm so sorry to hear about your problems. I have come onto the forum to talk about a similar problem and off my sympathies to you. It is just horrible when you can't find relief from the cramping and the pain. I'm not diagnosed either but just need SOMETHING that will help.

I can only offer similar suggestions as the other wonderful people - massage, anti-inflammatories and hot packs (although of course if you have heat intolerance that will make you feel unwell)

Take care and I hope something helps lessen the pain.

Mel :-)

I'm so sorry that your going through this.  It breaks my heart to know that one of my dear friends is in pain.  I wish I could take it away from you for just even a little while.  What are we to do?  It's like the pain never goes away.  There are days when we can tolerate it and then there are days that we just can't take it any more.

I've been in a lot of pain all week that's why I said that I wish I could take yours for a while.  I figure if I'm already hurting then let me have it instead of you.  This is the prayer that I'm praying right now as I'm speaking to you.  I often ask why do the good people have to suffer so much?  What have we done that was so bad in our lives that we have to live out the rest of it in pain.

I will often read my bible trying to find the answer to all of this.  This is what I always come to.  IICorinthians 12:9  And he said unto me,  My grace is sufficient for thee:  for my strength is made perfect in weakness.  Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.  I don't mean to preach but this is the verse that is inscribed on my Mothers head-stone.  When she suffered horribly with cancer this is the verse she would read to me.  She would tell me, "Carol, don't ask why", then she would read that verse and say, "this is why."  Some how it would bring comfort to me then just like it does today.

I'm sorry dear Zilla for laying out a whole sermon.  **** I don't even believe in women preachers.lol  Oh, well,  I think I needed to hear it weather anyone else did or not.

You are always in my thoughts and prayers and especially tonight as you lay suffering in pain.  May God be with you.

I'll be praying,
Carol

Hi Zilla,

Sorry you are having such a hard time.

Second all that quix said.  Actually alcohol is a muscle relaxant.  IF it helps a drink before you sleep at night is probably not going to hurt....  particularly while you try to get some answers.... just don't get too alcoholic on us :)

They need to do complete electrolyte testing if they haven't already to see if this is something that can be treated.

Have you tried massage.  I have a masseur who comes to my place once in a while.  Hurts like hell (I also have cramping problems - but nowhere near so bad as you), but it does help.

Keep us updated.

You definitely need to call the neuro, Dr. B. and tell him you NEED some symptomatic treatment while waiting for all of this testing.  It has been established in this country that we all have a right to palliative care (treatment that relieves suffering).  Be firm.  Tell him you understand that answers take time, but that you can no longer make it through the day becasue of the pain of the spasms.  You need some symptomatic relief NOW!!!!   !!!!!!   & more !!!!!! (learned this from Kristin)

Call him tomorrow and tell his desk that it is an emergency that he call you back tomorrow!.

Gosh you sound like you are suffering!  I take Baclofen and it does definitely help me, can you ask your doctor if you can try it?  I also use Vicks for the tightness in my jaw and neck at night when I need it.

I really wish you had your follow up appointment sooner than next week, can you call them to see if they have any cancellations or can fit you in tomorrow?

I will also be praying for you tonight!

I'm sorry you're having such a bad go. I have no words of wisdom or any remedy that would help other than the vodka might not be a bad idea. At least if it doesn't help, you might not care after a few. lol

I do hope that this doesn't last too long for you and that you get relief soon! Hopefully someone else has a good remedy to help you out. I'm thinking praying for you tonight.
