OT-got tooth pulled yesterday

Well went to the dentist yesterday and she ended up pulling my tooth. This was a job in itself for her. She couldn't get it out. Took over an hour to do it. I didn't feel any pain though so that is not the problem. The problem is that today my mouth smells like there is a dead animal in it. I called the office this morning and she wants to see me back at 3 to check things out. The outside of my cheek is has a streak of pink/red so not sure if an infection is starting or if the tooth was already infected and with it getting pulled it spread?

Who knows what is going on, it is always one thing after another with me LOL sometimes it seems like it will never stop. The smallest things turn out to be HUGE to me, come on getting a tooth pulled isn't like brain surgery and it is done ALL the time so why me?! Oh well enough of me complaining I will go to the dentist today like a good little patient and see what is going on and hopefully it will all be taken car of after this.

Sometimes the clot falls out of the extraction site and you develop a "Dry socket."  They can smell a bit putrid. Sorry, there is no better word.  If that is the case, your dentist will be able to clean it up pretty quickly.

Hi Paula,

You have had so much happen in a brief amount of time, I know you must be suffering.  I'm so sorry!!

It has been one thing after another for you, I don't blame you for being discouraged.

Having a tooth pulled is a major event too.  I have had three extracted and it's not fun.

Hopefully she will put you on some antibiotics to cure and maybe some pain meds too
