This is only one slice of the brain, so nothing can really be said about just this one slice.  If you would like to share more pictures, please PM me.  But please note, I can NOT interpret MRI's.  It takes many years of specialized training to do this.

I should add that this appears to be a post-contrast T1 image, meaning that we'd see enhancing lesions if there were any. Do you have any T2 images?

I don't see any abnormalities in that particular slice.

I don't  know for sure if size matters. I have read that MS plaques are more uniformed but don't Know if that is refering to size as well. Also in my case it may matter because I also read too that lesions in ADEM may be larger. But again not really sure. If you don't mind telling me have you had repeat MRI's and if so did they show any new or enhancing lesions? And what are the major parts of your body effected? I hope you don't mind me asking but they have been watching me scanning me every six months for new lesions or enhancing ones or basically any change, and so far no change, no new lesions and no enhancement. Have you had only one attack or more than one?

P.S. I can't believe they put you through an LP and didn't even check for MS with all of those lesions that doen't make any  sense.

Hi
Now that's the question of the day.....Last Thursday, the ER doc and GP said I have MS, definitely, but I'm not sure if my Neuro is on board with that yet....I go see him Monday....I also have an appt at an MS Clinic on May 14th, so I guess the Neuro's opinion could go one way or the other....Who knows.

Yes, I had an LP, but later found out that he didn't even check for MS.....Wanted to use the "limited" spinal fluid to rule out many other things....(I'm still upset about that one!)
The LP is a tricky thing anyway....it being negative doesn't rule OUT MS, so I guess he's not an LP Kinda guy......
PS---Does size really matter?  (seriously, LOL)

Ok, I just looked at your brain pics. Now that looks more like mine. A couple of mine are still a little bigger than yours. Actually they look a lot alike. Did they do an LP on you and if they did what were the results? Have they diagosed you with MS?

Same here, now that someone is using my MRI pics as a teaching tool...

LOL....

Mine are horrid looking!  But, like someone told me today, at least I have proof that I have a brain....hehe
And since we're on the topic of MRI pictures, Can anyone take a look at mine on my profile and give me any info????

I see something that looks like it goes around the outside  of the white matter almost in a circular formation. I am not sure but I think this is in the grey matter. I have 6 -10 white matter lesions on MRI and they are more on both sides and scattered throughout but more in the middle . Actually mine are located  on the corpus collosum next to the ventricle. I will tell you something else I noticed that your lesions are smaller and are all more closer to the same size than mine are. I have some big ones right over where the main visual pathways are according to my neuro.  From what I saw on my scan and yours mine look a lot bigger in size. My neuro thinks I have ADEM, I wonder if that is why? I sure hope someone who knows more than I do will jump in here and tell us the difference.

I'm not an expert, by any means but I can't see any lesions whatsoever on your MRI, dear.
If you can, take a look at one of the members here named Wingnut19's profile and view her MRI,  She has lesions quite visible and several of them.

(Sorry Wingnut, I just stumbled across them.)
Let me know what you think, dear.
