What do I make of this? Forgive me for the long post. There is a small amount of nonspecific periventricular and subcortical white matter T2 signal abnormality. These findings are not associated with postive mass effect or restricted diffusion. Differential diagnosis includes demyelinization, gliosis, and small vessel occlusion. There are multiple small lesions in the periventricular and subcortical areas and predominantly in the frontal and parietal regions. These for the most part are less than 5mm. These are not associated with restricted diffusion or mass effect. There are several tiny foci of low T1 high T2 signal inthe basal ganglia inferiorly. These are of low signal on FLAIR and are likely related to perivascular spaces. There are a number of prominent perivascular spaces of virchow-robin noted incidentally. My pcp (who happens to be a new dr to me) told me my mri came back fine, but will repeat in 6 months. Asked if there is a history of MS. In my early 20's after the birth of my 3rd child, they thought the same thing, and found brain lesions then.
