What is wrong with me?

I have such a wide variety of symptoms, I'm not a hypocondriac and have always been fit and healthy.  Sometimes I feel like I just can't keep going on with my life.  I'm 42, the mother of 2.

My feet kill me when I step on them if I've been sitting.  I sometimes have anal pain so badly that it doubles over.  My neck cracks and grinds, my spine hurts.  I often have headaches and recurring face pain.  My wrists and hands hurt, too.  I've taken so many questionnaires and seen a couple of doctors.  There's something wrong with me and lately I'm wondering if any of this is sounds like.  I've started a blog called selfcareadvocacy.com where I'm sort of jounaling the whole thing.

One quetionnaire told me I may have systemic candida, but that didn't address the face pain or similar pain in my feet.  I've thought arthritis maybe, the docs thought fibromyalgia, but noone seems to know what that is even...

I'm frustrated and driven by the need and desire to be a great mom.  i don't want to be on expensive drugs, as I'm self employed and insurance is expensive...the more I use it the more expensive it gets...

What are your thoughts?

I found you diagnosis of fibromyalgia to be quite interesting.  I feel like I have many of the symptoms associated with this disease.  My neuro thinks I have MS although I have only 4 lesions within my brain and spinal cord.  I have considered taking antidepreseents for the MS and now I understand that this helps for fibromyalgia as well.  I may start self treating for both MS and fibromyalgia just to see what happens.

I agree with essdipity.  What you're describing does not sound like MS.  Without Insurance working this up and going through all the tests will take time and money.  Try to get Insurance first before you get diagnosed so it won't be excluded (preexisting).

Hi, Lilyquinn. What a pretty name. I too am not a doctor, so can only offer my own knowledge and experience here, not a professional opinion. Your symptoms, however, don't sound much like MS. They do sound like fibromyalgia, which is very painful and can be debilitating. I don't understand what you mean by "no one knows what that is even." Are you saying doctors don't know? It's a recognized disease and nothing brand new, so if your doctor doesn't know about it then run quickly to a better doctor. You need a complete workup by someone competent to get to the bottom of things and find out what exactly is causing all your symptoms. You shouldn't have to suffer like this.

So please do find good medical help.

Welcome to the forum. I somehow lost my first post to you so I will try again.

I am sorry that you are not feeling well right now. I too am undiagnosed and know the frustration that comes with that. Please do not give up the fight to find answers. I know what it is like to want to give up but you have 2 young ones that need you.

Have the doctors that you have seen run any tests at all? If not you need to find some one else. Is this MS, I'm not sure that it is but as I said I am not diagnosed myself so I will leave that to our more knowledgeable forum members.

I just wanted to welcome you to the forum and let you know that others will chime in as  they can. Weekends can be slow in getting replies as a lot of members are busy with other things.

Wishing good health for you
