Pounding in ears

Does anyone else experience a pounding in your ears? it happens every night in my right ear when im going to sleep and some other times when my head isn't against a pillow...it's like a drum or something. Could it be the MS? I saw something called myoclonus of the ear or something like it's a tiny inner ear muscle spasm or something. It's not tinnitus b/c it's not a ringing and it's only in one ear. Anyway, let me know!

Hi. I have had what you are explaining before but it was also accompanied by some pretty serious pain in the morning after I laid on that side. I had recently completed a large event and had an ear bud in that ear about 14 hours a day for 4 days for radio communication and it caused a cartilage infection in the ear from friction. Do you wear ear buds a lot for music? If so try switching to over ear headphones and see if it lets up. Just a thought, hope this helps :)

it's definitely not my heartbeat. It's not even regular in pattern just thumping that comes and goes. Very strange. I do sometimes see my heartbeat pulsating in my peripheral vision, and hear it at times also. But this is different.

I do think it's middle ear myoclonus. Just wondering if anyone else with MS experienced this.

Hi, I would think it is just your heartbeat, I can sometimes feel it in my fingertips and sometimes hear it in my ear. I don´t know why, but I do not think it is MS related.

Best wishes,
Dagun
