Q? How do you balance your temp, when you hit the bed

During the Winter, I sleep on my (memory-foam mattress) bed, with a heated mattress pad, fitted sheet, top sheet, two blankets, and an comforter.  Sounds pretty "toasty", huh.

Well, the heated mattress pad, has two controllers (one right side, one left side), each has settings of off, 1-5.

My body is naturally cold.  I feel cold even when it's hot outside.  Last Summer, I always had a blanket on me, even though the temperatures were in the 80's-90's.

I sit up in bed a lot (to work on my laptop or watch TV, etc.), so my lower body stays warm, and my upper body is exposed, so it stays cool.

When I lay down on the bed, to rest or to sleep, I usually have my heated mattress pad cranked up to 5 and
I cover up, with all sheets and blankets.  

However, it doesn't take long before I feel too hot, and kick one of my legs out from under all the covers and such.

If I try not to turn on the mattress pad, and just use the sheets and blankets, I don't get warm enough.

Cold is bad, causes more tremors, speech troubles, etc.
Heat is bad, increases fatigue, increases blackouts, cognitive troubles, etc.

How do you try to maintain a perfect bodily temperature balance?
My normal body temperature, is low, 96.7 degrees.

For me, it's kinda hard to keep that balance.

Some like it Hot, some like it Cold, we wish it to be (Goldie Locks) Just Right.

I have a major temperature regulation problem in the winter and summer.  My body temperature is also very low and I have the same problem.  I can regulate it much better in the daytime because I wear layers and take them on and off as I need to.  However, at night, I'm freezing when I get to bed, and then I get too hot during the night.  

In the summer, I get too cool when the air conditioning is on.  I would suffer with the air conditioning off, though.  

I wonder why some people with MS have this problem?  It is really annoying.  Right now I'm really hating the spasticity and pain I'm having in my legs because it's too darned cold.

Me too, I wake up with a wet pillowcase and damp blankets, but it is a difficult task.
Oh well, the daily trials we face, huh.

i toss and turn all night going from hot to cold...i actually get so hot that my hair is wet at the back of my neck.  It's not a hotflash cause i've had those this lasts and then i get cold cover up again and start all over.
hubby has a hard time sleeping with me.

In order to be comfortable when sleeping I have found that I need my home to be at 65 or less. Year round I keep just my feet uncovered. In the winter I use 2 comforters on my bed and in the summer just 1.

During the day I alway have no shoes on as it seems to really effect how I feel. The shoes come off the second I get home from somewhere and are the last thing to go on when I have to go out.

PS my normal body temperature is 93.2, this mean when my temp is the normal 98.6 I really have a fever.

Why not try keeping the heat setting to moderate and wearing a flannel pj top or something similar?

I've had a lot of trouble with temperature regulation, or at least the feeling hot part of it. I sleep with the furnace turned off and my ceiling fan turned on, but I have toasty warm blankets. I do much better when the air I breathe is cool, almost cold. I sleep better too. This winter I've needed the air to be at 65 degrees during the day, so I've saved on heating costs, but during the summer the AC runs 24/7.

I guess it's just a matter of experimentation to find what works.
