Somebody / Nobody?
You and your world look so ugly to me.
Too much for me to care about and why should I anyway?
Why should you matter to me or any of you with those unnamed faces?
You are just part of a crowd in a swirling bunch of images in my brain.
You are just a face on the evening news, a statistic that has no meaning.
Boy, I work hard everyday and I pay my bills on time!
Unlike you my life has meaning and I do know all the right people.
You are nobody to me; good bye I just happened to be walking past.
I am one of the chosen people; go ask Jesus, he will let you know.
My name was written in the “Book of Life” when time started.
You see, you would not understand because you do not have the mind for it.
Let me close my eyes to you, I cannot take the time to even look at you.
My life is filled with important tasks
And I cannot afford to take time for anything/anyone so incidental.
Enough said and why do you keep standing there anyway.
You look like something the cat dragged in.
You could at least smile and try to look like someone deserving my attention.
