Hmm, I'm definitely no expert, but this sounds like it could be a vestibular disorder. I don't know about the neck issue, but the motion sickness from movement and lights flashing sounds familiar.
I have a friend with a severe vestibular disorder (brought on by a traumatic brain injury, so even more extreme than yours). She wore dark glasses all the time, and if someone walked into the room and flicked on the overhead lights, she would start retching. Wild patterns on clothes could even set her off. She had the help of a wonderful doctor that greatly improved her quality of life.
On a less extreme note, I get dizziness and motion sickness. With my latest bout, I got nauseated watching TV, riding in a car, turning my head to look at my cat. I also lose my balance, and misjudge where I am; stepping on stuff I know is there, hitting my head on stuff I know is near me, etc.
I haven't had a doctor that could figure out why I get this dizziness and motion sickness. My ENT said it wasn't from my allergies, but he didn't know what it WAS from.
Since this last episode has been pretty bad, I'm considering seeing a specialist. I just need to figure out what kind and which one. :o)
I hope someone comes along with more and better answers for you.
Kathy
Thank you for bumping me up ;) I have another question: Have you ever gotten sick from people moving around in front of you? I had that the other night. Well, it actually lasted for 3 days. Lights turning off and on or flashing fom T.V. set me into a tailspin. I actually got motion sickness from my kids running through the house. It was awful!
Sorry I can't say that I do but I am bumping this back up for others. I am sure someone will have something of help to say.
