Does anyone know what this might be?

I was woken up from sleep last night when my foot and hand on the left side were jerking violently. Once I woke up, it didn't happen again.

And now today I'm having these spells where it feels like parts of my body are covered with static electricity.

Thanks for the response, Suman. I've scheduled with a new neurologist. There's no point in contacting the one I've been seeing. I can't get in to see the new one until Jan 18. The gal said she'd see about getting me in sooner if possible, but the doc isn't back in until next week.

This sure doesn't sound like MS.  Of course, a horrid backache didn't sound like MS.  I just hope they find what is wrong.  It obviously has something to do with your nervous system.
