Oh, there's definitely a period of adjustment when it comes to injecting yourself. I went through an odd period where I really had to psych myself up for it (cup of tea, relaxing music or a comedy in the background). But this passes. Truly, it becomes something you can do practically in your sleep after a while. Focus on the fact that what you're doing is an investment in your future health. Congratulations on taking the reins!
I was terrified at the beginning too. Before you know it you will be a pro and wondering what the fuss is all about. :-)
Thank you Corrie!
The nurse is coming tonight. I'm sure once I get the hang of it, it will be fine. I have never had to give myself injections before and it is kinda scary.
Hi there, it is completely normal to be nervous at the beginning.
Has a nurse already been to see you or is tonight when he/she comes?
I settled into Rebif shots quite easily and opted not to take any ibuprofen/acetaminophen prior to the shot until I knew if it would affect me.
Just take a deep breath before you inject and let it how to relax your body and then do the shot.
The first few are nerve wracking to be sure but I know you can do it!!
Good luck!
Corrie
