TYSABRI CPT code and other questions

Hi Everyone

My neuro is thinking of putting me on Tysabri as I have Secondary progressive and Do NOT want to do daily shots.  I am reading as much as possible about it and see that it is extemely expensive. So, I am trying to find out from my insurance company (Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield federal) all the details I can. The girl who answered wanted to know what the CPT code for Tysabri is. If anyone out there knows what that is I would greatly appreciate it. I was hoping to find out as much as possible since I know that some places can charge you more per infusion. I think my cost will be 15% so it makes a big difference to me what the overall cost will be.  Thanks so much for reading this. Good luck to everyone!

Hey Em,

That girl should be able to get her hands on their medical policy, think the codes are in that, but not sure what other type of documents it would be in...

You feeling ok about the possiblilty of starting it soon? Sorry if I missed it and you already posted..

Will let you know if I come across something,

sorry, can't help much with this... I'm not on any medication.. only for symptoms.. as I'm Dx with PPMS.. and my MS specialist said there is no meds for that??

I wonder what the difference is?  why SPMS.. can be helped with this med?  and PPMS isn't supposed to be helped...

if it's so expensive...I would ask about that.. I would not want to take meds that really won't help... and if they reallly do help... why can't I get them?

ummmm... sorry can't help much with the question... good luck
hope someone here know your answers
take care
