Treating leg pain

Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do for my chronic left leg pain. My left leg is my weaker leg. I just finished another round of physical therapy where I met all of my goals so I was discharged, but I my left leg still constantly aches. I have tried Ibuprofen and Naproxen and Flexeril (in case is was spasm related) but they don't seem to work. If only I had a live-in massage therapist.

The pain runs up the ourside of my leg. It is most intense in my lower leg. Ankle and thigh. My doctor won't prescribe anything. In addition to working my butt off to strengthen that leg I also try to stretch often, but I am out of ideas and while I have had worse pain, it is bad enough that it keeps me from doing things that I need to get done and disrupts my sleep. Any suggestions as to something that I could try?

Thanks!

My neuro said it couldn't possibly be MS related because I used heat on the spot and it felt a little better. She said if it was MS related and I used heat it would get worse. Apparently she thinks that I say in a sauna or hot tub and warmed my core body temp with a warm rice pack.

My doctor doesn't want to prescribe anything because he things that my neuro should.

Apparently you DON'T have to be brilliant to go to and graduate from med school.

Did your gp send you to that neuro. and do they know your problems? None of my neuros would prescribe anything for me so I talked with my gp and got my meds set up. Also meds like xanax or valium work great as a muscle relaxers and help with spasms and are a take as needed not daily. Best wishes, Sissie

have you tried neurontin?  sometimes baclofen and neurontin together do the trick, at least they work for me!
