Need support --- April has been bad month

Nearly every weekend this month has been spent in bed! It started with a diverticulosis flare.(no bleeding)I've progressively gotten weaker. My PN has gotten worse.I've had nerve pain in my lower back.Although my left side is definitely the worst,my arms and legs are weak and sore. When I told my neuro's nurse this, and told her my urologist would like to see MS ruled out,she wanted to blame the symptoms on my lumbar spinal stenosis and told me,"But Pat,you had a brain MRI in 2009!" Duh! That was like yesterday! :(

Hi CMS-

Sorry to hear your going through a rough patch.

Problems with your legs and back can be caused by lumbar spinal stenosis. I've seen that movie :-) Lumbar spinal stenosis would not likely cause any problems with your arms. Symptoms related to cord/disk issues travel down, not up. My stenosis was @L4, L5. Anything below that level was fair game.

If your neuro thinks that a 5 year old neuro is good enough, it's time to find a new neuro :-)

It is no fun to be sick. I hope you get stronger every day.

I can bring a bit of good news for you. We are in May now so hopefully the awful April is gone taking with it your health issues. :-)

On another note I think there must be something in the air because I have had a bad March & April so I'm praying May is bringing good health for us all. I would not bother raising your concerns with the nurse if she is dismissive like that & I would suggest you speak directly to your Neuro if you can. I usually can email my Neuro with anything so see if that option is available to you.

I hope you feel better soon.

Take Care,
Karry.
