Urgent - test question

I have been scheduled for an emg 2/2 b/c of funny feeling through muscles (feels like vibration/electricity running/tremmors).  I am self-pay and can only afford one area to be tested.  Where?

I initially thought leg b/c that is where the feeling started months ago.  However, it isn't as strong and I don't notice it like I used to.  I am still falling (ripped toe nail off Sat) but I'm afraid to test an area that no longer seems as weird.  My arms are not as bad as the leg used to be but are still a bit shaky.  Do I get the arms tested instead?

Help!

Paula - best to you and your sister.

I'm torn as to where to test b/c I don't want to test an area that's already healed or that is not damaged enough to show test results.  Or have an emg when I need an MRI...Ugh!

I was very active before all this started but I think my hands are so very important to me.  My hands were my livelihood, a means of communication, and playmates for my daughter.  I want to run and play with her but I'd settle for just being able to stay awake and play dolls or on the computer w/o it being too painful.

I am still in limbo, looking for a name/diagnosis so I can face this thing head on.  I feel like I'm chasing shadows and wasting time.

I have to say this one is up to you. You should get tested the part that you think is worst. I personally would go with the leg because of the falling. I know your arms are important too but for me my leg is more important to me than my arm.

Me and my sister both have MS and her lower body isn't affected at all. He left arm does go numb periodocally and she has problems with it but for me it is my left leg, hip and bum. We were talking and we both agree that if we had to have problems with something it would be an arm because at least then you can still walk.

Not to say her leg will never bother her and that my arm will never bother me again (because it does) walking is so important to me and for that reason I would choose my leg to get tested to see if maybe there is something that could be done to fix it.

I am not sure if you are diagnosed yet...guessing not since you are still in the testing mode but I hope you find out what is going on and you pick the part that you feel is more important.

Hope you get some answers no matter what body part you choose!

Take care,
Paula
