Vertigo

Yesterday I was getting ready for my copaxone injection and started a vertigo attack, I had not had one like this since before I was diagnosed with MS.

My husband was gone so I had to get back to my bed, I just hung on to furniture til i got there.  Otherwise,  I was falling all over the place.  I guess the whole thing was about one hour although I didn't feel good for the rest of the night.   I did vomit a bit, of course.

Does that happen to any of you?  Just wondering which one of my health issues caused it.

hugs, meg

Its been a long time since I had that kind of vertigo, I am just grateful it went away so fast.  The first time years ago I had it for weeks, it got better slowly. But I have been dizzy since then, that never went away.

I figured it was the MS, it is what started my diagnosis the first time.

@Francyna...I have had the mention of a catheter recently, so I have two of you to come to with questions.   If I remember....:)

I'm so glad to see I'm not the only one that goes through stumbling about. It's so embarrassing for me especially out in public. I feel like people think I'm drunk...(which I don't drink) .  Lately I've been so stressed, with being outon workman's comp. That still hasn't gone through yet because I decided to go to my own Dr.  Instead of the panel Dr. Mind you the panel Dr. Kept sending me bak to work with a swollen foot.

That whole time I had a cuboid fracture, I didn't  get a cast until 8 wks after. Needless to say my bone healed with deformities that required surgery.
So my job doesn't want to pay !!!!!!

Well thank you MS family for allowing me to vent...what a relief......Oh I finally catherized myself successfully....yayayaya. Hey Lulu54 ,Your right it's not that bad..I guess you get use to @ a while...

Trying to stay optimistic w/ this toxic romance...

That kind of stress I don't need .....things are really getting tight.

Vertigo is no fun.  Doc #1 blamed it on the cerebellum lesion, Doc #2 blamed it on the brainstem.  I think brainstem is much more likely.

Fortunately, the WHEEEEE! sensation finally went away.  Took about three years.  But I still have a hard time with my vertical vs. my horizontal.  These days I bump into walls and grab things to keep from going sideways - pinballing through the house.

Hi Meg,

About two years ago I had a bout with vertigo that sounds very similar to the one you are describing. There were a couple of times that I needed to vomit and ran for the bathroom but on the way I bounced into everything in my path. My chest of drawers gave me a nice gash on my shin one of the times.....

At the time nobody could figure out what was wrong with me. Fast forward two years and I am diagnosed with RRMS. My nuerologist told me that my vertigo was most likely a symptom of my MS. From what he told me and things I have read vertigo is a very real possibility with MS.

I hope this helps.

Best,

Tom
