We miss you, Yorkieville!

Hi, Sheila~

I know you've been having a rough time, and I've just been giving you space.  But I can't take it anymore!  Where ARE you?

Is Dr. K. helping at all?  Are you in that much pain?  I'm worried about you.  You're not seeing other forums behind our backs, are you?  I know you got your diagnosis, and you really should be with the CIPDs, but we need you here, to know you're OK.

Come back!

Love and hugs,

Zilla*

Zilla, sorry to disagree, but I still say you're amazing. :) I've seen those blue & white icicle lights, they are so pretty!

Kristin, I am afraid Dr. K may not have figured anything out. More in a second.....

Shelly, I'm glad you don't think I'm nagging you, I just don't want anyone to die like my Mom died. It was awful.

T, my D.O. gave me a 'script for Valium to see if it might relax the sphincter muscle, and to seems to be helping me ease off the steroids. But I still have this awful headache. :(

Now for the depressing news. Tuesday afternoon, I had my follow-up with my Neuro here at home. I still hadn't heard back from Dr. K with the blood test results she had ordered Nov. 7th. I had called last week Wednesday and this week Monday and they said they still didn't have the results. Well, I spoke to my Neuros assistant on Monday and she called the hospital here, and they had the results and faxed them to her.

Anyway, my Neuro had not received a copy of Dr. K's 1st report from September. Apparently, Cleveland had sent it to an old P.O. Box. Fortunately, I had the presence of mind, to bring him a copy. So, I brought him up-to-date about doing the Solumedrol infusions and the Pred. I told him that she said the EMG showed I had some problems with the nerves in my spine, and ordered the Solumedrol & Pred. to reduce the inflammation. He looked through Dr. K's report and he was annoyed, to put it mildly.  He said the EMG she ordered in Sept. was normal, and didn't understand why she put me on Solumedrol & Pred. He said I do not have CIPD. He said she ran all the same tests he had run. The recent blood tests she ordered were normal. His assistant faxed the results to her. I still have not heard from Dr. K. I am going to put another call in to her today.

He says there is nothing else he can test, and is taking a 'wait & see' attitude. I am supposed to follow-up with him in two months. I see no point.

I saw my D.O. on Monday and he gave me a 'script for Ultram. Unless Dr. K comes up with something, I guess I'll just live on pain meds.

I am so disappointed.

SL I was on the chantix for about 6 weeks and it was definately very effective, then all heck broke out.But all meds effect all of us differently.

Zilla has turned into the energizer bunny on us,I'm jealous. No I was not on the Chantix when i couldn't walk and had to fight the PA.

My tree is coming out of a box all ready prelit.Just fluff and stand.

Yorkie, how are you doing coming off the steroids?

I enjoy going to the gym,not been there all week, its been a little rough.See I go to watch the young buff stud muffins work out.Its like walking into a china shop,ya can look but can't touch(lol)

No seriously it keeps me in touch with reality and it can't hurt. Its stabelizing what I have left.My neuro can think it don't help maybe it isn;t but it gives me a peice of mind and its something I do for me!!!

Hope all is doing well

Hi Ladies,

Thank you Sheila for sharing this w/me, and us.  I don't think you are a nag for mentioning, and know it's compassion.  I'm sorry about your mom, it must be so painful.  I am fearful of my future if I don't quit.  I put in the script last night.  So, I'll give it a go.

Zilla - any improvement?  Kristin, how'd you make out at your appt?

T-lynn - How long did you take the Chantix before all h** broke loose?

Be well,
SL

Hello ladies!
I just read this thread and wanted you both to know I have the same sensations in my throat and chest.  Feels like someone is pushing up on my ribcage and like there is a tight wrap around the middle of my throat.  I went to the GI doctor thinking it might be something in my abdomen pushing up on my ribcage and he ordered a Gallbladder scan to check function.  I am waiting to hear from cardiologist to discuss the chest and palpitations that sometimes accompany these episodes also.

I am in Jacksonville tonight getting ready for my appt. with the neuromuscular doctor tomorrow morning and plan on telling her about these new sensations also so I will let you guys know what I find out.

Yorkie:  Your pain breaks my heart!  I really want Dr. K to find some answers for you soon!  Will be praying for you all!

Glad you all had nice thanksgivings even with the slackers! Ha !

Take care all!

I'm not amazing.  I really am doing better.  SO much stronger now.  I just have to watch when I overdo it.  And my boss expects WAY too much, but amazing -- I am not.  You all are for just getting through your days with nothing less than a growl!

We went to our favorite old tree lot in our old neighborhood, but really didn't find a nice Fir.  They had a different sign, so we think it's a new nursery.  We stopped and got new house lights instead.  Blue and white "icicle lights" that twinkle.  I really love them!  It's our 2nd Christmas in our new house and we decided our older lights didn't measure up last year.  We moved in last Thanksgiving, and just barely got decorations up.  I felt so awful then.  It's right when I started to notice the fatigue.  We'll go to another tree lot our neighbor suggested tomorrow.

Shelly~  Believe me, NOTHING's too inappropriate here! There's really nothing we don't talk about here, you know that!  Especially all this heavy breathing with the handsome neuros!

Feel well, Girls!

Hi, T. I am still recovering form my trip to my sisters. But it was worth it. I am counting down the days 'til I'm off the pred. Just 3 more. The headache is not as bad today, but oh boy, yesterday it was a bad one. Felt like my eyes were going to pop out of their sockets.

Tell your 'egotistical but handsome' Neuro that your time at the gym DOES do some good...it keeps your spirits up. :)
