Hi all, Im with Heather on all this nasy doctor and office help.
Its just sick!!!! Sick!!!! Sick!!!!! AND TWISTED!!
This kind of stuff is running wild. I believe it is always
best to put in complalints. As best we can.. But I agree
with doublevision1 that once the trust and respect between
docs and patients have been broken down. Its already to late.
Rena: I truly believe it is time to find another Gp.
Speaking from past experienc with a Gp I had some years
ago, I had horrible pain in neck and arms, she said here
take these pain killers and go ahead to work. My job
consisted of working with upper arms on a assembley
line for 8 hrs a night.
I could not even move with pain. The medical dept (doctor) at work
sent me home. said go back to doc in morning.
Ha, She had left for vacation right after I left her office the
day before. Sound familiar???
saw the NP, got MRI Had a herniated disk pressed into spinal cord.!!!
When she got back from vacation, I let her have it. shortly after
that she sent out letters to her patients saying she was going part
time, and if we would like to see another doctor in the practice.
I signed up pronto, and the new guy was wonderful, I miss him now
that I have moved to Fl. But got lucky with my new one here.
I know its a pain to change over, and takes time but if your not getting
proper treatment now, and getting lied too, then I just dont see that you
have a choise.
All My Best Gollie
Rena, I am having trouble with my breathing also. I havent called my doctor on it yet. I got to feeling like my doctor and receptionist hate to even hear from me. I call the nurse for something and she never calls me back.
I think i will get another doctor. I have been sick with a cold and my husband too. He got to running a fever so he went to the doctor and I stayed home. Well, He got a nose bleed that lasted about 15 hours. He takes blood thinners since he has had a heart attack and 3 stints.
I called the clinic 3 times to ask them what I should do. Finally, I ask to speak with the manager and got her to go ask the doctor what to do. and I told her that the nurse never returned my calls.
jI finally found out what to do and called his cardiologist and we got it straightened out.

Not to scare you, but, for reinforcement purposes, only. My former father in law, if you remember, just passed away from lung cancer. His doctor had been treating him for pneuomonia, bronchitis, you name it. Until it was too late to treat the cancer.
THEN he had the tests he'd needed. THEN it was too late. He lived for about a month after he found out why he couldn't walk all the way to his truck without having to stop to catch his breath.
I would definately contact some impartial interested party, to find out what you should do. And to help you to find another doctor.
We need you in here. :) :) :)

Your story of what your doctor did, really pops my cork...I'll tell you why. When it comes to something as dangerous as your increasing breathing problems that Bi**ch has no business playing games with your life. And Rena, that's exactly what she has done. She has actually put off what is a very important visit with your "breathing" doctor. Your Pulmonary doctor. Am I correct? Weren't you suppose to have breathing tests done already? Is my MS brain playing tricks on me?
Rena girl...what was this doctor thinking? She is playing game with YOUR life? Tell me where to find her and I will take care of her myself. I can breathe better than you, so I can chase her down..she won't be able to run fast enough, cause she needs someone to catch her and shake the beejeebers out of her. She should be reported....playing around like this when the patient is having increasing breathing problems is NOT a joke.
Good thing I live in the US, cause if I lived in Canada, I would be visiting her office and ask her if that would be the way she would treat a family member that couldn't breathe...
Hot and Heavy,
Heather
I am trying to get in to see the MS guy -- but he's in the same building and that's become a wee bit of an issue.
See Cowardly Lioness post for details.

What you're both describing is unethical behaviour, a serious breach in any profession. It's very dismaying that these 'professionals' would engage in such conduct. Are you able to change doctors? Once the pt/dr trust has broken down, I don't know how you could move forward with any confidence in these individuals. There are great doctors out there, so please keep looking till you find the right one. I can't imagine how frustrating this must be, but with your health at stake, it is absolutely worth pursuing.

Oh yes, my timeline? Couldn't be bothered reading it. Didn't even let dh hand me my OWN copy for reference!!
Some people!!
I am in the same boat........and did I mention I can't swim?
My neuro (non-MS neuro) put information in my records of tests that he did NOT do.
He mentioned in one report that he doesn't have lab reports. He told me to hand carry them. I sure did, with a nice BRIEF overview letter of the contents.
He didn't even READ them!
Then at the appt., he said we need to get bloodwork done (this is as he's saying I don't have MS, go back to the pcp) to rule out B-12 deficiency. I said I GAVE you the bloodwork, I am fine on that. Absentminded nod of his head, hand was on the doorknob, his cellphone had just rang (give him credit, he didn't answer it just then.)
The written report of that visit was an EXACT, VERBATIM transcript of the results (or non-results) of my first visit!!
Surely we aren't the first/only people to be lied to? How many people have been hurt/gone undiagnosed due to this incompetence?
