advice needed for limbolander

It has been a little while since I have posted a question. Just a quick recap of my story: Pain in neck and limbs since 10/07, lesions on brain mri (possible demylenation according to radiologist), several tests abnormal(ANA, lupus anti-coagulant, sed rate),diagnosed as fibromyalgia I've seen 2 neuros and I am on my 2nd rheumy. This last month I have noticed that I am really slow. I am 34 and joined a water therapy class at the YMCA. I am at least 20 yrs younger than anyone else in the class. When we walk around the pool, I can't even keep up with the oldest person (in his late 70's/early80's). When I get out of the pool, gravity pulls me down and my feet drag across the floor as I try to get my legs to move. I have also started having shooting pain down my neck/back when I put my chin to my chest. Could this just be the fibromyalgia?

Hi, Princess!

Yes, with the lesions, I'd say a HUGE piece of your puzzle is missing.  You've got to find the right doctor to find it.  You may have fibromyalgia, too, which is a very painful disorder.

Most importantly though, you have to find out why you have lesions.  BIG piece of the puzzle, like you say.

We'll be here pulling for you.

I am going to do my best to answer all of your questions. I have had several spinal mri's and a brain mri.The brain was the only one that had lesions. The neuro said that they don't look like ms lesions. I was diagnosed even though I don't get pain at all of the pressure points (I have pain throughout my body, but it doesn't hurt specifically when pressing the points). I was on Lyrica for 3 mths. It didn't help. I've been on several anti-depressants and muscle relaxers, the latest being cymbalta, cyclobenzaprine, and tramadol. I did test positive on ANA and sed but "not enough for a diagnosis." So, here I am in limboland. I know fibro is a diagnosis, but with the lesions, etc. I think that there is a piece of the puzzle missing.
Thank you all for responding. It feels good to have people who understand what I'm going through.

Glad to see you again. I don't think you can get the L'Hermittes Sign with Fibro which sounds like what your describing when you put your head down. Hopefully someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Fibro is a wide spread pain condition. It usually affects both sides of the body. How did they DX you? Did they test you by pressing on certain parts of your body for pain? You have to have so many pain points on your body.

Gollie is right, Fibro doesn't put lesions on your brain. I hope you start feeling better soon.

Take Care

I would also like to know what the doctors have done for you so far?  Are you on any medications?  Have you ever had a spine MRI of the cervical and thoracic spine?

Sorry you are feeling so awful.  I really don't know much about fibro, other than it can be painful.

What have the doctors done for you?  Have you had an MRI of your spine?
