Supposedly they mean "benign" in the sense that you're not particularly likely to die from it or quickly deteriorate.
But in my opinion, nothing's benign if it has a severe impact on your quality of life. It just minimizes what you're actually experiencing. Stupid word...
thank you so very much for your message you are very honest and i appreciate this so very much.i know this benign ms theory is stupid. they say i have ms but now what? i thought i would feel better after getting a diagnosis but it does not look like they are going to do to much for me is it my age?
Benign MS should never even be discussed with someone whose life is totally disrupted by the symptoms. PERIOD. Classifying MS is done by assessing the consequences to the patient NOT by looking at the MRI. This aggravates me so.

Sorry I can't give you any information why this could be, but I just wanted to tell you I know how much this ***** and I really hope you will feel better very soon.
Take care

Did they do a thorough testing for Lupus?
It mimics MS, but unlike MS, weight loss IS a common symptom of Lupus.
I'm no expert, but from my reading Lupus can be difficult to diagnose (its not as simple as a positive or negative ANA test confirming or refuting it).
