I have lots of problems going on. I just saw a rheumy for the first time in years.  He dx me with arthritis in my left knee.  This is the same knee I had surgery on back on May 4th. The surgery has seemed to make my knee worse.

He dx me with fibro, but I'm not too sure of that.  He didn't go through all 16 points. And he dx me with degenerative changes in my spine.  My spine is a mess.  I'm only 33, and already have bone spurs, disc bulges, and dessication.

He also ran some blood tests. Not the usual ones like CBC and metabolic panel.  I'm waiting on the results back from what he ran.

My neuro says something is definitely wrong with my left leg.  I didn't feel the EMG she did, or feel the pin ***** test until half way up my leg.  I'm going to have a punch skin biopsy on my left leg, as well as a new MRI of my brain and cspine.

**sighs**I just don't know what to do or think anymore.  :(

Laura -

Not sure if so much disease, but I think a lot of 'conditions' are related...

My doctor has me listed as 'nearly Celiac' because the MS has a side effect for me of not being able to tolerate gluten at all.  My bloodwork is negative for Celiac, but convince my body of that!   I've gone totally gluten free and now even a little bit of gluten causes stomach / gastro issues which it did not before.  Originally it was like a neuro toxin and caused syptoms to act up.

Same with lactose.  You will hear alot of MS patients report that lactose is a problem.

I also have a positive B antibody for Sjogrens.  They are not sure if there is correlation, but its there.

Are you worried about a second overlap or something else causing you problems?

Hey there,

We've talked about this a few times on the forum, dont particularly recall anyone condition standing out more than any other, though thyroid rings some bells. I just typed "other autoimmune conditions and MS" into the search this community box and 404 posts came up, the second page has a few interesting ones that might be worth having a look through.

Cheers.......JJ
