Leg Lock Up

I have been experiencing episodes where while standing my leg muscles freeze up to the point that I cant move them and have to be almost dragged to a chair, I can't raise my arms or barely open and close my hands, my face muscles are hard to move and my speech is slurred all of this happens at the same time. I thought that I was having a stroke the 1st time because of the paralysis but I didn't really feel pain. The doctors can never find anything wrong and all my blood work comes back normal so I get sent home with a take it easy and rest but I am getting no where and I know something is wrong.

Hi TW- Welcome to our forum.

Unexplained symptoms can be a bit frightening. Finding answers can be very frustrating. Sorry you're having a tough time.

What you describe does not sound like MS. MS tend to cause damage to specific spots on specific nerves. This kind of damage tends to result in localized symptoms. For example you right hand might be effected, or your left leg. MS generally does not cause the kind of all over symptoms you describe.

Have you seen a neurologist and did they order head, c-spine and t-spine MRIs done with and without contrast? If you can fill in a few more details we may be able to point you in the right direction.

Mmmm kwarendorf is alright, they can be scary, but as somebody who has MS you should definitely get an MRI and possibly a lumbar puncture test done... I have MS and the symptoms very much roam around. My last relapse was my midsection being numb, but this most recent one has been legs and toes... sometimes its my left arm.

Good luck with your symptoms, testing is always a good idea if you can.
