A family member has a very non-scientic but accurate way to describe my MS spasticity. He says that I have "the plastic legs." I do indeed feel a bit like Barbie, with her legs that will bend but only a little and only in certain ways.
I notice spasticity most when I try to stand up after having sat or laid down for a while.
Thks for bumping Quix post up. I still am confused on what I have with my muscles spasticity or myofacial pain. I just know my trap, neck, and shoulder right side muscles are alway super tight and i get knots bad and I have slight lost of mobility. Oh and a lot of pain for 4 years now. I too sleep in a recliner. I wish they could just "fix it"! LOL!!
Optic neuritis is essentially inflammation of the optic nerve. Becuase the optic nerve is responsible for vision, this inflammation will affect vision. Some people may have blurring of vision, double vision, partial loss of vision, eye pain.
Spasticity is not the same as myofacial pain, or tight muscles with knots.
Spasticity occurs when the muscle cannot relax completely. This makes it harder to move and it may feel stiff. Spasticity can be painful.
This is not a medical explanation, but hope it helps.
