I didn't think so...other than it's a total pain in the rear. I've had a continuous hug for months but not as bad as the first one which was just terrible and lasted full force for a month. Kinda hard to breath tho
Hey, Jay-Jay! Speaking personally, I don't usually have leg weakness after the MS hug. However, when I have problems with myoclonus, my legs get very weak. Sometimes it feels like they won't hold me up, or it's difficult to stand up. If I do have the MS hug, my legs are okay - not great, but they haven't been great in a while.
Essentially what that means is that there's something going on with your spine. Sometimes overactive lesions will cause problems all up and down your spinal cord, causing leg weakness and other symptoms.
OMG I gonna be crazy if this thing last more than a few days, I can take stumbling and tripping over this. You are awesome.
JayJay
lol, JayJay. It lasted a month in various stages. Not full force for a month, thankfully.
Julie
It actually lasted a whole month, OMG
I think it all depends on the person, like any thing else related to MS, we are all different. I had MS hug for about a month. No "deficit" or lasting sx from it. It's gone, baby, gone.
Julie
A deficit is after you have the ms hug , you loose something else, such as arm or legs get weak, or vision gets worst, things like that.
JayJay
Breathing is at a deficit with the MS hug, so is sleeping.
Julie
Not sure what you mean. They can be quite painful. I get a combination MS hug and esophageal spasm, where my throat cramps up. I have to drink warm/hot liquids and take a Flexaril, maybe two.
