Hi Meg.. sounds like RLS and you should get some meds for that.. I take meds in the evening.. Gabapentin and clonazapam... it helps me sleep and my hubby sleep too..hehehe.. he says I move my leg around alot..
I also have movements in the daytime too.. my head will tibulate and sometimes my arms or legs will jerk and jump.. ?? I don't take meds for that yet??
hang in there and too bad you have a difficult time with contacting your neuro..
take care

Now that you said that, i used to have RLS a lot and also the feet moving. I really didnt pay any attention to the feet on the gas peddle until it was brought to my attention.
The sleep Dr gave me requip for RLS and I told him I didnt have it and I had not had it for a long time. But now I am thinking maybe he was right. I just started the requip again last night because the RLS has returned. I didnt realize it would be the same thing with all my limbs.
And no, i dont sleep well at all. I have never slept well for as long as I can remember. I take trazodone for sleep but the Dr wont increase it so I sometimes take an OTC med to help. I never sleep until between 12:00 and 1:00 ...sometimes 3:00 or not at all.
I really dont know what to do about it because lack of sleep seems so damaging to me, along with everything else.
I dont see my MS Dr enough and she is so difficult to see and she never does phone calls, I have to go thru the guard dogs to even get a question answered.
thanks, meg
Hi Meg. Glad to see you back, and I'm happy your cataract surgery is turning out well. Good! We always need good news.
What you describe sounds like restless leg syndrome, or really restless limb syndrome, if the rest of you is moving too. If you manage to sleep through this that's wonderful, since many people can't. We've had a lot of forum discussion about this problem, so you might want to Search this Community to find some.
One thing to consider is your medications. Meds can cause all kinds of weird reactions, including movement disorders. I suggest you go over your meds with your neuro or PCP and see whether any of them could be the culprit.
If not, there are meds especially for RLS. Requip is one, but some people can't tolerate it. I have a friend who's had almost a lifetime of RLS, and now is treated at a sleep disorders clinic. She is doing well on a combination of neurontin and hydrocodone. Has not had to have dosages increased.
