Is Dr House in the house?
Believe me, there is such a long list of things it could be. That's why MS is so hard to diagnose. Where is Dr. House when we need him?! Hang in there, and read everything you can get your hands on. You are not imagining this.
Blessings,
Mary Kay
It's tough when all the tests come back negative. All in your head? If it's MS, then yes, it's all in your head - or in your neck, or your thoracic spine. If you're having a symptom, the symptom is there.
With optic neuritis and your other symptoms, I would definitely push for more diagnostic tests. You could be suffering from a B12 deficiency, or have transverse myelitis, or be suffering from some other condition that is more treatable than MS. I don't know for sure, but ALS progresses faster and doesn't include cognitive problems. If you're having problems speaking clearly, then it sounds more like MS.
Good luck! I know how stressful it can be to be the sole breadwinner in the family.
