Thank you, I will do that. The MS question has been 2 wks. the vertigo about 9yrs. It was only about twice a yr bppv. the last few years has been very stubborn bppv so I thought. It just kept coming back every few months etc.
Welcome to our group. It's understandable that you are very worried, but please stop panicking--that won't help things at all, and in fact will make them worse.
You have not been diagnosed with MS yet, so the jury's still out. There are other tests that could point to or away from MS, and if your neuro hasn't ordered these, he should. Thoroughness is important. I'm sure from your web reading you know that there is no single MS test, so what it boils down to is the preponderance of evidence, including how well the diagnostic criteria (McDonald) fit your circumstances.
It does sound as if you have a knowledgeable doctor, who wants to see your brain MRI in more detail, using probably a 3T machine. That's to the good. I know that's not till August, but that kind of thing is standard for MS doctors. If you have MS lesions, they won't go away between now and then.
Is vertigo your only symptom? And for 9 years? And you say something has been going on only for the past 2 weeks. Could you explain what you mean?
Meanwhile, I suggest you search our long history of posts and comments by using the spyglass or magnifying glass at the upper left. This will open a box where you can type in your search criteria. You don't need to type in 'MS' since it's all about MS, but you might enter
BPPV or ideally
BPPV Quix
This will list all posts containing these words, and there will be loads of matches. Quix is a forum member who was extremely helpful to those of us needing help understanding many MS issues, and as she is a former doctor who had to leave medical practice because of her symptoms, she really knows her stuff, and can explain it beautifully. (I'm more than sorry she's no longer active here). Also, she suffered terribly for years from BPPV, and describes her treatment and how all this led to MS. This info comes up in various posts from others asking similar questions. So I think all this is right up your alley, so to speak.
Good luck, and let us know how you are.
