memory change

I suffer from migraines/numbness/tingling in hands/feet and I noticed that there is a change in my memory - most of this is in retrospect or hearing feedback from my husband, and no, I dont mean when he is talking about me helping mow the lawn.. I noticed that now, I have to really make an effort to remember things o/w I will forget them. Like something I totally forgot, that I had a MRI exam - completely. I only knew I did because I had a copy of the results, but to be honest, I dont remember even doing it. From the report, I know that I went to that clinic and all, but no idea. I cant remember names at all or if I picked up the cordless from one room, I would go back to the room looking for it and wouldnt remember that I put it down till I saw it laying around - this isnt once in a while, this is all the time now.

So with all of this memory drama, are there any tests that can test my memory in a genuine way? I think some memory test are too simple and force ultimate undivided attention, which does not evoke the natural response.. for example if I am told you need to remember the name Bob, then the response is to do everything possible to remember the name, even if that means repeating it 20 times or writing it down, but if someone asked me now and then 2 mins later ask when I dont expect it, then the result is natural. I dont know.....any ideas on how to naturally measure memory? - I know its subjective to an extent

Hi!
I ditto what Jen said. A good neuro-psychological test can pinpoint areas of cognitive dysfunction and test short and long term memory issues. Your PCP or your neurologist can order one of these evaluations for you.

When I started noticing problems, I asked my neurologist to schedule me for a neuro-psych exam.  If you're having memory problems, it's possible that you're also having cognitive problems...

Hi there.... I don't know of any memory tests?  Sorry can't help with that..my head seems to be in a fog alot of the time..don't know if it's from the medication or age or MS?

what I find is what happened a month ago, I will feel like it either didn't really happen or it feels like it was a year ago not last month?

weird feeling, but that's my mind.

take care
