I was wondering if there were more people out there with fathers, and their sons , and their sons who have ms?    My husbands Dad, and my brother n law have it , i was wondering how much of a chance my son has to get it ,  that would be one in every generation,,,, we dont even know if my husband has it or not hes only 31 and hasnt been tested yet. but his hips and legs hurt him all the time

I have heard it can be common to have more than 1 family member with MS. I am the only one in my family with it. Has your husband found out anything yet? Wish ya luck. Keep us posted.

Both of my sisters are Dx with MS. No other family members before. I have no diagnosis, but have been showing symptoms for close to 11 months that appear to be. I do know some males with MS, but none have family members to my knowledge. I know that one of the things a neuro looks at is family members. I seem to recall hearing that there is a "genetic predisposition". Quix would know much better if this is still the designation. Sorry couldn't be more helpful.

My grandmother had MS and I have it.But no other family memebers that we no of had or has it now.

I had read an article awhile back that men can have a tendancy to pass it on more so than females.I beleive this was an article through a study from the CCF.

With your father-in law and a brother -in-law having MS it doesn't neccecsarly mean that your son will get it.Some beleive that certain heitages are at a more genetic predisposition risk than others.
