Sorry,  I have a question?   I have looked for this answer everywhere and can't find the answer.

I was going over Lp report.

  What is Borrelia burgdorferi  I g G .  A b s .  C S F.  Of.     0.80

  What is Borrelia  burgdorferi. I g M .  A b s.   C S F.  Of.      0.80

What's does this mean?   What is this?   Also I have a protein level of  21.   And a glucose level of 68.

Is this normal levels?   And what do these levels mean?   I know what glucose level is.

Can anyone answer these questions?   Any thoughts or comments?

Thanks Misty.  God bless,  stay well.

Im worried about this report because this was all that it said.  This test was suppose to been done for ms.  I had this Lp done about 8 months ago.  The doctor said everything was fine but didn't go over any of the results with me.  It's ok because I'm switching neuro.  Hopefully I will get some answers even if I have to redo every test.  But, thanks so much for your input.

  Take care

Borrelia burgdorferi is the curly cue shaped bacteria that causes lyme disease.  That's what I know for sure.  The IgG and IgM are immunoglobulins and the Abs probably stands for antibodies.  CSF is cebrospinal fluid.

Although there is a number reported for the Borrelia burgdorferi IgG and IgM Abs, I think it is low enough at 0.80 to be considered negative (meaning lyme disease corkscrews aren't present and causing your immune system to make antibodies).

I'd guess the protein level to be on the low side of normal but normal ranges vary from lab to lab.  I would think problems are associated more with elevations in CSF protein.

Glucose levels in the CSF vary depending on what your blood glucose level was within a few hours of the LP.

Hope something there helps.  Has your doc reviewed your LP results with you yet?  I can't tell if you are worried or just looking for a fuller explanation of what's been reported.
