I'm a complete newbie, undx. - just put in my first post 2 hours ago, but I couldn't resist commenting on this. I have had nocturnal myoclonus since October 2007, (and of course with an abundance of other symptoms), and during this time I have had the palatal myoclonus twice. Boy, for me, there really was no mistaking it when it happened - it's this tapping that can clearly be heard in the ear, and it's so rhythmic, I defy the best drummer on earth (of course that would be the drummer for the band Rush, o.k. maybe ACDC) to duplicate it. I used to get this thumping in my ear, as if somebody was tapping on the eardrum.  Soft palate, huh?  Hmm....

I know.............. :-)  It is one of those vague things I tried to explain to the first neuro I saw and she looked at me like I was a little off.

Doesn't take much of that kind of response to shut a person up.

It is so odd how now that I have a dx some of these smaller things, that seemed to have no meaning by themselves, MAY be more clues.

I don't have a lot of lesions, but I do have a lot of symptoms.

Good gracious, YES, say something. It's not a minor thing, you get sick to your stomach.

This is interesting.  I get twitching on the out side corner of my eye.

I also get an awful spasm in my chin.  It seems to start in the back of my neck and comes around and my whole chin will contact or pull backwards.

I get sick to my stomach after it happens.  I have not said anything to the doctor about it because it is hard to describe.  I see my MS doctor this week, maybe I should mention it?

Yes!  I get this from time to time!  It's quite annoying because it sounds like Morse code . . .  I notice it when I get facial twitches.
