Hard to say since everyone with MS is different and where your lesions are does not directly correlate with symptoms. I have similar symptoms to others on the forum and yet I have a different experience with my symptoms than others. Does that make sense? However ON would be due to a lesion in the brain. I have lesions near the Optic Nerve but have never had ON. Eveyone is different.
Alex
Lesions in the neck lead to numbness and spasms in the neck area. I have no lesions in my neck, but several in my brain, and have a lot of facial numbness as well as optic neuritis. My numbness extends down my neck on the right side, and all the way down my back - tapering off at the lumbar. It's possible I have lesions in the spine, but it hasn't been verified.
There's a lot of nerves in the skull area - many people with MS present with facial paresthesia as their first symptom. I guess MS finds it easier to get to the head first.
THANKS JEN FOR YOUR MESSAGE WHENEVER THIS NECK THING HAPPENS I ALWAYS FEEL I HAVE HERNIATED A DISC BUT THEN IT GETS SOMEWHAT BETTER AGTER 5 0R SIX DAYS.
