Back from Hiatus with Questions

Hello Everyone,

I have been avoiding the forum, during my "feel good" period . . . which is going on two months now WOW!!!!  I went to my MS appointment several weeks ago, and have had no progression in lesions for almost two years.  I declined to have an LP, since my doc is not even considering medication.  (I began questioning my decision on the way home.)  The doc continues to refer to my symptoms as transient, and I find I no longer want to mention anything (I feel like a hypochondriac . . . again!)  For the record, I have some symptoms that last for months, others that reoccur for minutes several times a day for several days.  My "stroke-like" symptoms fall under the last description and have received the most attention . . . but they are far from my only symptoms.  Some of the numbness/tingling have been almost constant for two years.  (Oh well, I told myself to keep this positive . . . but I find myself venting my frustrations. Sorry!)  I really do feel much better and/or I'm getting better at coping????

I do have a question:  Two weeks ago my right calf muscle was tight and the next day my knee hurt (had a knot behind it).  For several days I limped and could not straighten my leg because of the "knot" (golf ball size).  It went away as quickly as it came on.  I noticed several joints on my right side were feeling odd, but I tried to ignore them . . . and then . . . a few days later, I was grating cheese and actually heard a pop in my right elbow.  It hurt immediately and I could feel a very small knot over the bone.  The elbow still hurts.  Finally . . . my question . . . is it very likely that MS could be causing all of these muscle and joint problems?  Are they pointing me back to a rheumatologist?  Why is everything happening on my right side????

To end on a positive note:  I did have contrast with my MRI this time.  My kidney function has improved dramatically (in my opinion).  Creatinine levels fell to 0.9 (It was 1.2 when first discovered to be elevated a year ago.)  Perhaps this is bringing on the "feel better" phase!!!

Thanks for listening,

Sherry
