Bellies aren't naturally flat, just the way it is. Most people are genetically programmed to have some room there, particularly women for when they have children. For some people, however, if there's excess fat that settles in the belly area it's a sign of too much intake of simple carbs, which turns to sugar very quickly in the body and is stored as fat, and the first place it's stored is in the belly. That's why it's called a beer belly when it gets big enough, as beer is very high in simple carbs.
You can't spot reduce fat from the stomach or any other area of your body!
If you reduce your overall body fat that's going to help slim your stomach.
Cardiovascular exercise will burn fat throughout your body, that includes your stomach. you should aim for 30 minutes a day 3-5 days per week.
Two- three body strength training routines per week will help build lean muscle mass and rev up your metabolism. That should include stomach exercises, like crunches, reverse crunches, planks. Google stomach exercises to see how they are performed. (I'm going to assume paxiled that's another poster on the forum will contradict some if not all that I am posting)
