Well, it depends. Most humans don't digest wheat very well, and if you're on of those, then even whole grain wheat, while better, than white refined wheat, could still prove difficult to digest and therefore could lead to either weight gain or digestion problems. There are a lot of whole grains out there that are far superior in every way to wheat nutritionally, including spelt, kamut, brown rice, millet, etc.
