Achilles Tendon Rupture (2nd one on same leg)

I had a full achilles tendon rupture and had surgery on Oct. 15th. (this is actually my second rupture on the same leg...I re-tore it while in the shower and had to have surgery again) While in the cast, I tripped with my crutches and landed on my foot.It started to bleed around the incision and the incision opened up a bit. I went to see my orthopedic surgeon to get my cast off and put my walking brace on. I told him about my tripping accident and he looked at the tendon and felt it. He thinks that the tendon is fine and IF it is torn it may just be stretched and not torn completely. I asked him if I need an Ultrasound and he didn't think I needed one.(A side note:when i re tore it I went to emergency and the triage doc said it looked fine, but sent me for an ultrasound, and that is where the tear showed up. The tendon was still stitched to the sheath they put in the first time but torn in the between the stitches if that makes any sense). So, the doc put me into another half slab for about two more weeks and I was on crutches and no weight bearing. So all in all I was in a cast for about 3.5 to 4 weeks of non weight bearing. I saw a Different Orthopedic surgeon this time when I was getting my cast off (they work together they said) and he felt the tendon and I told him what happened. He said it's fine.

My problem is that i'm not sure I believe them. When I feel the tendon area there is a very soft spot from where it tore.
When doing stretches on it, I don't feel any stretch at all. When the Thompson test was done by my mom, she said that my foot did indeed move but not as much as my other leg. My muscles are very soft now in my injured leg due to no walking and the cast.
Could that make a difference do you think??

What do you all think?

I've heard that the tendon WILL repair itself while I wear the brace. It is still stitched to the sheath, but it may be torn again in the middle. Do you think it will heal all on its own now? I know that some hospitals don't even DO surgery on a full Achilles rupture.

Thanks everyone!

Also....I've had TWO Orthopedic Surgeons look at my leg and they felt around the area.  They've BOTH said it looks fine and if it is torn or stretched it would be minimal they THINK!  They both said that I didn't need an Ultrasound.

Would YOU Trust them???  I know the Triage Doc that I saw is not an Orthopedic surgeon so she may not know all about the achilles stuff.
