Distal Tendon Rupture/Sprain?

by SurfingOC, Nov 22, 2006 12:00AM
A week and a half ago I noticed a bump at the lower end of the bicep and about an inch above the elbow after weight lifting.  There is no pain associated with the bump and I didn't notice the bump until about an hour after working out.  I thought I might be a bruise or a strain of some sort, but after looking around the Internet I thought it might be a distal tendon rupture.  I went to the doctor today and he referred me to a orthopedic (2-3 weeks away). Does anyone know if a strain of the bicep tendon would cause a bump or a knot about the size of a nickel in diameter and it protrudes about 1-2 cm?  Also, I have not lost any mobility or strength in the arm? Thanks.
