Double wrist sprain complications

Double wrist sprain complications

I have mild Osteogenesis Imperfecta, and recently suffered sprains in both wrists. A child pulled both of my arms downward while twisting, leading to pain and swelling in both arms. X-rays were negative, and I'm making a follow-up appointment tomorrow with my orthopedist. However, my real concern is that I frequently experience numbness and tingling down the thumb side of my wrists, almost to my elbows. The sensations also extend into my hands. Typing does not bother me much (obviously), but I experience pain, tingling, and numbness whenever I try to hold a pen or turn a door knob, or if any pressure is applied to the base of my thumbs. I try to avoid activities that make the condition worse, but that is difficult to do sometimes. I doubt my doctor will be able to see me before the holiday, so I'd like some idea of what this could be.

Thank you for the advice!

Sounds like a nerve problem.  See an ortho or a neurologist and get a nerve conduction study done.  good luck
