Failed collarbone Surgery...1 year later

I was involved in an accident Dec 27th 07. As a result, I broke my left collar bone and 5 ribs. I had a plate and 13 screws installed on January 7th 08. All seemed to be fine except for the large plate that stood out on my shoulder. It was anoying when playing with my 6 year old due to the pain when rubbed. I chose to have it removed on November 17th 08 thinking all was healed. Well, I began having issues and found out yesterday that it didnt heal and is now broke again. My surgeon is as baffled as I am but has thought about 2 options. 1- do nothing for 6 weeks and see if movement will stimulate healing. 2- go back in and reinstall plate and screws with a bone graft from pelvic area. What should I do? I a distraught just thinking about starting this whole process over again! Please help.
