Foot and ankle pain from shin injury

About 2 1/2 weeks ago I got hit in the shin with a softball. The shin was/is bruised and swollen. The inside and outside of the foot also  became bruised, I got an X-Ray and the shin was not fractured. Now, 2 1/2 weeks later the top of my foot, and front of my ankle has a sharp pain whenever I walk, and my toes have begun to twitch. Do you have any idea what could be causing this sharp, shooting foot pain?

Hello!

You might had some soft tissue injuries during the softball session on your legs. There might be possible ligament tear at your ankle joint and i suggest you to apply ice packs to decrease inflammation, take some anti inflammatory drugs and also go for crepe bandaging to limit your ankle movements.

With further pain and inflammation and other problems you should visit an expert orthopedician for examination.
