Hip pain after exercise

Hip pain after exercise

Otherwise a very healthy 23 year old female, a dancer since the age of 3.  Mid teens developed hip pain, after many physicians (orthopedic, PT, chiropractor, MRI's) rest, medication and stopping dance at the age of 18 I still experience pain in the hips whenever I exercise.  I can stretch, do eliptical but cannot walk for distance, run or even hula hoop!  I do not know which direction to go now but can't not do anything for fear I will always be hurting.  Any recommendations?

Hello!

I would suggest you proper orthopedic examination and also MRI of the hip and pelvis region for diagnosis and treatment.

Trauma or injury is the commonest cause of hip pain. The pain may be due to problems in the head of the femur or acetabulum and also due to the ligament injuries, tendon injuries or bursitis. Hip pain may also arise from overuse injuries in which muscles, tendons, and ligaments can become inflamed. Follow up with an orthopedician.

Take care!
