Knee Pain from prolonged kneeling

Knee Pain from prolonged kneeling

I am a painter for a construction company so i paint newly built houses or remodels and stuff like that, and I am frequently on my knees. When I first started I had pain in both knees, but now I only have pain in my left knee. A few days ago, my knee swelled up really big, I iced it and it went down, then a day later 5 red dots that looked like mosquito bites that had been itched to the point of scabbing over appeared. I thought it was maybe a spider bite, but they haven't gone away, they itch sometimes, and there is a large lump directly underneath them. The lump is extremely warm and hard. the lump is not directly on my knee, but about two inches below my knee cap. Because I am continually on my knees the pain has not let up. Could anyone shed some light on what this might be? and how to treat this?> thank you

for some information that might a clue to my symptoms.
I am Female
6ft tall
21, will be 22 in a few weeks.

Hi there!

Well, without a clinical evaluation, it would be difficult to analyze your situation. This may or may not be a bone related issue. Likely possibilities include infections, granulomas, haematoma, growths, masses etc. I would suggest an initial evaluation by a primary care physician and depending on the cause diagnosed or suspected, it may be managed accordingly or specialist care may be sought. As for the knee pain, if it recurs you may consider an evaluation by an orthopedician.
Hope this is helpful.

Take care!
