Open Growth plates

My son is 14, he will be 15 in January.  He has a lot of pain in his elbow when he throws a baseball.  We took him to an orthopedist and he said his growth plates are wide open.  He also said we just have to wait until they close.  My son wants to be on the high school baseball team.  Is there anything we can do to take the pain away until his growth plates close.  If he waits until the growth plates close it might not happen until his Junior or Senior year in high scholl ant then it will be too late! (when he was 12 we were told he had a bone age of 10)

My son had the same issues with his feet. Sadly he was told to either take time off from sports or suffer through the pain. We tried padded insoles ice and advil it did help sometimes and other times he could barely walk.With time it seemed to subside. Good luck
