Shoulder Instability

by ellagrace, Jul 15, 2009 04:01AM
Over the last few years my shoulders have always sort of crunched as though the bones are rubbing against each other and this is starting to really hurt. I have this in both my shoulders but I have never had an injury to either.

When I am standing normally it feels like my shoulders are going to dislocate they just feel that the ball joint is too low down and will just slip out. Then about a month ago this actually happened when I was just sitting down reading a book. I had to push my shoulder back into place and after I had quite a bit of muscle pain for about 2 weeks.

I have had physio for this about 2 years ago and it didnt help they even tried acupuncture. Now I have moved to Germany and dont even know where to start.

Hope you can help!

To: Eloise,
In some people the shoulder joint is instable and the most common dislocation is anterior. You have to know that the joint is ball and socket type and if the ball of the humerus by any reason comes out of the cavity then there is dislocation.
Visit an orthopaedician and assess if you have partial, total dislocation and if you have any lesion or complication by which it is getting dislocated (Bankart's, Hillsach's etc)
Then you will be given options for recovery. Take care!
