I'm a 6' 3" 195lb 38 yo male who 1 yr ago had both a discectomy and laminectomy due to severe lumbarBack pain - low Cerebral spinal fluid (csf) collection Herniated lumbar disk Herniated nucleus pulposus Lumbar puncture (spinal tap) Lumbar spinal surgery - series Lumbar vertebrae Spinal surgery - lumbar Vertebra, lumbar (low back) pain at L4/L5 with nerveNerve biopsy Nerve conduction velocity root compressionCompression of the median nerve Cpr - adult Cpr - child (1 to 8 years old) Cpr - infant. This was causing bladder issues and radiating pain down both my right and left legs however the pain in my right leg was worse. The pain and limitations in functionality was so great that I was in patient hospitalized 5 times in the year or so leading up to this surgery. After surgery I saw immediate improvement with my bladder issues and the pain in my left leg was gone. HOWEVER, i continued to have pain in my lumbarBack pain - low Cerebral spinal fluid (csf) collection Herniated lumbar disk Herniated nucleus pulposus Lumbar puncture (spinal tap) Lumbar spinal surgery - series Lumbar vertebrae Spinal surgery - lumbar Vertebra, lumbar (low back) back and right leg, however it was marginally improved but not to the point where I was pain free was able to walk without a walker and subsequently a cane for apprx 5-6 mths after surgery. I was being told that the nerveNerve biopsy Nerve conduction velocity root could take a great deal of time to heal. As a result of the continued pain my doctor ordered a EMG several mths after surgery and this showed moderate nerveNerve biopsy Nerve conduction velocity damage still existed in my right leg ( don't recall the official medical name for this ). MRI several mths after surgery, according to the dr, still shows a small broad based herniation at L4/L5 however he says the nerve root should have enough room and scar tissue from the surgery does not look to be pressing on anything. I was told that it would improve with time as the nerve was compressed and it takes time for nerve roots to heal. I'm now at 1 year since my surgery and while i did see some great inconsistency where I would get marginally better, I would get worse as I tried to become more active, I'm still not walking well, am not able to stand and sit more than 30 - 45 mins. Now over the past several weeks the pain in my left leg is returning and now I'm seeing an issue that I never had initially and that's not being able to bend my 2 smaller toes. I'm able to bend all my toes on my right foot fine. I've noticed searing pain in my thigh shooting down behind my knee to my calf and then now down to the outer center edge of my left foot. It's as though someone is taking scissors and cutting directly in to the side of my foot and the shooting pain then goes to my 2 small toes that I can't bend now. Also burning and pins and needles. The pain lasts for a few seconds goes away and then waves come back again. I also have uncontrolled violent shacking in my right leg where my leg bounces up and down off bed locks at the knee and shakes uncontrollably just like a seizure. This only lasts 3 seconds or so and only seems to happens once or twice every couple of days now. What could this be? Especially the new issues with not being able to bend my 2 small toes and the uncontrolled seizures in my right leg. Thank you
