Unable to fully extend finger 6 months post op

I had a trigger finger release on my left middle finger 6 months ago.  It seemed to heal well and I tried to use it as much as possible.  I continued to have some swelling and stiffness which I was told would eventually resolve.  The finger does not trigger anymore however I cannot fully extend that finger and it is weak.  Ive tried doing finger exercises etc. and it still remains stiff.  In the morning I can barley open that finger and even by the end of the day I can never fully extend it.
I was just wondering if anyone out there has had the same problem?  Do I just need to just give it more time or is there something I can do to help?
Any input is greatly appreciated!

Go back to your surgeon and talk with him about it.  He may send you for some physical therapy.  Good luck!
