avulsion fracture of fifth metatarsal growth plate
I have a ten year old son that has an avulsion fracture of the 5th metatarsel. The fracture is in the growth plate.

He is wearing the boot and has very little pain if any at all. He did this 7 days ago. He did this in sports and we are obviously not going to push him back until he is full go but since he is a child and the swelling and pain is very little, what kind of recovery time would he be looking at.

Also, since he's putting weight on it even though he is wearing the boot, can he remove the boot and do any kind of weight bearing rehab this early.

Thank you
