bone scan

I had a bone scan today for my right hip and right knee because of the terrible pain. White spots were all over the hip & knee BUT also on the left knee where there is no pain at all. Why would that happen if only the white spots are supposed to be for bone diseases or cancer.

Hi there!

The white spots show areas on increased bone formation and may not necessarily indicate a disease process. It would be best to discuss the results of the bone scan with your treating orthopedician.
Hope this helps.

Take care!
