tibia and fibula compound fracture

in an accident two months ago i got a tibia and fibula fracture which was treated with cast immobilization! two days ago my plaster was reduced to the knee while the ankle joint is still fixed. my age is 18 years. doc says it wod take six more weeks for complete healing. i wanted to ask am i healing slowly or at a normal rate? how long does it usually take?

Hello!

At your age healing is faster.

With multiple fractures and comminuted fractures the healing is delayed. Like if you have two or more bones involved you would require time for healing.

Take all the precautions, eat healthy and follow up after a month for a repeat X-ray and to be sure of proper progressive healing.

Take care!
